Keir Hardie Methodist Church exists to be a place of peace and welcome in our neighbourhood as we seek to share the love of Jesus Christ through our worship and fellowship and through service in the community.Mission Statement 1999
We absolutely abide by the principles of the Methodist "Our Calling" document, that is the equal importance of Worship, Learning and Caring, Service and Evangelism
An important element of our work is serving the community by making the premises available to all sections of the local community.
The church provides a carer and toddler group and space for other groups working with under 5s. It also provides a group for elders in the community and a keep fit group. Other groups using the building include a youth club, two other churches, office space for Newham Welfare Trust who work with the Bengali community
We are currently completing work on our Computer Suite, with 10 computers, to be available to groups of all ages who need this facility and are planning to provide an outside play space for the under fives and their carers.
This church, along with Bryant Street Methodist church in Stratford is a member of TELCO, the East London Communities Organisation (telcocitizens.org.uk).
For many years the church has been supported to pay its way by a number of other churches, known as the 30 churches group. We provide regular newsletters about the church to this group.
Worship takes place on Sunday mornings at 11 am for the Methodist church and at other times, in small groups when appropriate.
